The FoilMount is a universal hydrofoil mounting system, this means that you can put a hydrofoil track on just about any board you already have. Just Stick and Ride!
The FoilMount uses a specially designed 3M adhesive to stick to the bottom of your board. It will accommodate any foil that uses the 90mm track system (this is industry standard). It is an easy way to fix a broken track system on a production board. It is also great for retrofitting boards with through-bolt holes to give them the adjust-ability of a sliding track system.
The FoilMount is very easy to install; just clean the surface, prep the surface with alcohol, peel the backing on the adhesive, and finally stick onto the desired location. Always dry-fit your mounting location before install because once it is stuck it is down for good.
The FoilMount needs to be mounted on a flat surface with no concave or tail rocker. It can be removed but cannot be reused.
Ridge Mount FoilMount This is the standard mount with a relief cut down the middle allowing for a mount on top of a ridge on the bottom of the board. The surface still needs to fairly flat, but allows for a slight ridge where the FoilMount will be installed. It is suitable for most SUP boards, hydrofoil boards, Skim boards, Surfboards. If you have any questions about mounting compatibility email us at sales@foilmount.com.
The 2.0 Standard now includes: -Upgraded FoilMount plate with one piece adhesive backing -4 high strength brass or stainless steel slider nuts -1 set of 4 flat head M8x16mm bolts for Slingshot, Liquid Force, Cabrinha, and most other hydrofoils. -1 set of 4 flat head M6x12mm bolts for Takuma Surf hydrofoils -1 set of 4 pan head M8x20mm bolts for Moses and older Liquid Force foils (instructions, alcohol pads, scotch-brite pad, FoilMount plate)
Advice for mounting FoilMounts from customer questions:
Answer for "Scott": That Liquid Force Wake Surf board has a PU (poly urethane) coating which will make a medium strength bond with the VHB adhesive tape in the FoilMount, I’d recommend using the 3M 94 primer before mounting. As far as position, make sure that the mounting area is absolutely flat number one. If you have a ridge down the middle of the board and are using the ridge mount, make sure both sides of the ridge are flat (no concave or big enough for flat mounting with ridge). The best way to do this is to "dryfit" a FoilMount in the mounting location and make sure it fits tight to the board. In terms of position I’ve found that you want your rear foot either directly over the mount or slightly to the rear of the mount so your thinking was on track. You can get the 3M 94 primer pretty much anywhere adhesives or paint is sold…we also have it on our website. Hope that helps!
Answer for "Christian": The mounting position will need to be flat (no concave, double concave, or tail rocker). If it is a large enough concave the center of it may be flat enough to mount. You can check it by taking a FoilMount (dry fit with the adhesive backing still on) or a piece of wood and use it as a straight edge to see if there is any curve side to side or front to back in the mounting location. For mounting the FoilMount for surfing you will want your rear foot to be directly over the foil in the surfing stance. This is usually farther forward then your stance when in the pocket. I’ve had good luck mounting directly under the front edge of the rear foot pad. Hope that helps. The dimensions that need to be flat is 9.5” side to side (4.75” from center) and 13.5” front to back.
New for 2020 is the full carbon, low profile FoilMount 3.0 Carbon.
This compressed carbon plate is not only beautiful it is also incredibly strong allowing it to be thinner than the original FoilMount. This setup weighs just over 1lb so it is also about 30% lighter than previous models. The new curved shape along with it's light weight and thinner profile make it incredibly low drag in the water. You cannot tell there is a track mounted on the bottom of your board while using it without a hydrofoil. We have also upgraded the included hardware. Because this system is so thin we had to invent a new hardware set that would work with any base plate on the market call the Wizardhat Hardware. Each FoilMount 3.0 Carbon includes a set of 4 Wizardhat hardware and they will allow you to attach any hydrofoil on the market to your FoilMount.
Features: -New Carbon Fiber bulletproof construction -CNC milled tracks and edges -Bubble channels in adhesive to decrease bubbles while installing -Flexible edges and center-line to accommodate more board geometry. -New more efficient shape -Lighter design weighs 30% less than FoilMount 2.0
Includes: -FoilMount 3.0 Carbon plate with adhesive back -Installation and preparation materials (Alcohol wipes, scotch-brite pad) -4 sets of Wizardhat hardware (25mm T-bolts) -Extra set of 4 x 35mm T-bolts for thicker base plates -Instructions

GoFoil and Standard Deep Tuttle Drop-in Plate Adapter
Regular price
$169.00
This is a dual purpose adapter plate that will accommodate both the GoFoil Symmetrical deep tuttle and the standard Deep tuttle. The adapter includes "drop-in" fastening slots for easy in and out while working on any standard 90mm track system including the FoilMount. The two tuttle retaining holes are slotted and are large enough to fit M6 (GoFoil) or 1/4" (standard tuttle) bolts which will work on most systems.
This setup includes 1 adapter plate, 2 qty M6x50 Gofoil retaining bolts, 4 qty standard track mounting bolts, 4 qty M8x16mm FoilMount track mounting bolts, and 4 qty brass M8 T-nuts.
The height of the adapter is about 3” so if your tuttle goes all the way in, your mast will be functionally around 3" longer than slotting the tuttle into the board. The overall weight of the adapter is 1.4lbs.
This adapter works on standard deep tuttle foils as well as gofoil tuttle hydrofoils.
Wizardhat Universal Hardware Set
Regular price
$36.00
This hardware set will work with any base plate or 4-bolt tracked board on the market. This included M8 or M6 base plates and tracks. There is no more need for T-nuts or different sized bolts the Wizardhat will work on any. Also, the way the bolt sticks up through the track on top makes it easy to line up with the base plate.
The Wizardhat kit comes with a 15mm ratchet wrench, 4 qty Wizardhat hardware sets, and a decal.
Be careful not to over- tightening with the wrench as you will have a lot more leverage than the screwdrivers you have been using.
Primer 3M 94 Adhesion Promoter
Regular price
$2.99
When in doubt use the primer, it is magical in terms of making things stick really well! It is also easy to use.
How to: To apply, make sure the surface is fully prepped and dry using the instructions included with the mount. To use the primer, just push the dot on the side of the stick to start the flow of primer to the application brush tip. Apply it to the surface in a thin even coat. Make sure you allow it to dry before installing the FoilMount which is usually 5 minutes at room temperature.
More Specific Information: In the back of the FoilMount installation guide; and below, there is a list of the materials the FoilMount will stick the best to and a list of other poor/fair adhesion materials. You can use the primer to improve the adhesion of these poor/fair adhesion materials so you can still use the FoilMount. Polyethylene and polypropylene are a few of these materials and can be common on wakeboard and kiteboard bottom surfaces. If you're using a FoilMount with a board that has a bottom made from a material on the fair adhesion list make sure to use this 3M primer to prepare the surface prior to sticking down the FoilMount. This adhesion promoter can be used in a wide variety of applications. It is developed to be used in conjunction with 3M VHB tapes to increase the bonding strength of the tape. It is a popular tool to assist in applying automotive vinyl wraps. It increases the bond between vinyl wraps and nearly anything where a strong, durable bond is required. This product can be used to promote adhesion of 3M tapes to surfaces such polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, PET/PBT blends, concrete, wood, glass, metal and painted metal surfaces.

Tool for Removing FoilMount Including both parts
Regular price
$40.00
This is the easiest way to completely remove a FoilMount from a board or other surface without damage to the mounted surface. It is a fairly quick and easy procedure consisting of two steps.
Removal Procedure: Step 1: Use the included water chisel with you garden hose to cut through the foam adhesive between the FoilMount and the board or mounted surface. Make sure to apply some pressure on a mounted mast to help wedge the FoilMount up while you're chiseling.
Step 2: Use the included rotary eraser with a corded or cordless drill to get all residual adhesive remaining on the surface. The cordless drill adapter is included.
Below are the two instructional videos for this process.
