The FoilMount is a universal hydrofoil mounting system, this means that you can put a hydrofoil track on just about any board you already have.
The FoilMount uses a specially designed 3M adhesive tape to stick to the bottom of your board. It will accommodate any foil that uses the 90mm track system (this is industry standard). It is a easy way to fix a broken track system. It is also great for retrofitting boards with through bolt holes to give them the adjust-ability of a sliding track system. The FoilMount can be removed but cannot be reused. It is very easy to install, just prep the surface with alcohol, peel the tape backing, and stick! Make sure you install the FoilMount on a flat surface on the board (no rocker, double or single concave).
Standard FoilMount The standard mount is a flat plate that can be installed on any flat board surface. It is suitable for most SUP boards, hydrofoil boards, Skim boards, Surfboards. If you surface has some curve to it try the Ridge Mount system. If you're trying to outfit a board with a tuttle box system or a windsurfing rig try the Hole Mount system. If you have mounting questions you can reach us by emailing sales@foilmount.com
The 2.0 Standard now includes: -Upgraded FoilMount plate with one piece adhesive backing -4 high strength brass slider nuts -1 set of 4 flat head M8x16mm bolts for Slingshot and most other foils -1 set of 4 flat head M6x12mm bolts for Takuma Surf hydrofoils -1 set of 4 pan head M8x20mm bolts for Moses and older Liquid Force foils (instructions, alcohol pads, scotch-brite pad, FoilMount box)
Advice for mounting FoilMounts from customer questions:
Answer for "Scott": That Liquid Force Wake Surf board has a PU (poly urethane) coating which will make a medium strength bond with the VHB adhesive tape in the FoilMount, I’d recommend using the 3M 94 primer before mounting. As far as position, make sure that the mounting area is absolutely flat number one. If you have a ridge down the middle of the board and are using the ridge mount, make sure both sides of the ridge are flat (no concave or big enough for flat mounting with ridge). The best way to do this is to "dryfit" a FoilMount in the mounting location and make sure it fits tight to the board. In terms of position I’ve found that you want your rear foot either directly over the mount or slightly to the rear of the mount so your thinking was on track. You can get the 3M 94 primer pretty much anywhere adhesives or paint is sold…we also have it on our website. Hope that helps!
Answer for "Christian": The mounting position will need to be flat (no concave, double concave, or tail rocker). If it is a large enough concave the center of it may be flat enough to mount. You can check it by taking a FoilMount (dry fit with the adhesive backing still on) or a piece of wood and use it as a straight edge to see if there is any curve side to side or front to back in the mounting location. For mounting the FoilMount for surfing you will want your rear foot to be directly over the foil in the surfing stance. This is usually farther forward then your stance when in the pocket. I’ve had good luck mounting directly under the front edge of the rear foot pad. Hope that helps. The dimensions that need to be flat is 9.5” side to side (4.75” from center) and 13.5” front to back.

FoilMount 3.0 Carbon
Regular price
$169.00
New for 2020 is the full carbon, low profile FoilMount 3.0 Carbon.
This compressed carbon plate is not only beautiful it is also incredibly strong allowing it to be thinner than the original FoilMount. This setup weighs just over 1lb so it is also about 30% lighter than previous models. The new curved shape along with it's light weight and thinner profile make it incredibly low drag in the water. You cannot tell there is a track mounted on the bottom of your board while using it without a hydrofoil. We have also upgraded the included hardware. Because this system is so thin we had to invent a new hardware set that would work with any base plate on the market call the Wizardhat Hardware. Each FoilMount 3.0 Carbon includes a set of 4 Wizardhat hardware and they will allow you to attach any hydrofoil on the market to your FoilMount.
Features: -New Carbon Fiber bulletproof construction -CNC milled tracks and edges -Bubble channels in adhesive to decrease bubbles while installing -Flexible edges and center-line to accommodate more board geometry. -New more efficient shape -Lighter design weighs 30% less than FoilMount 2.0
Includes: -FoilMount 3.0 Carbon plate with adhesive back -Installation and preparation materials -4 sets of Wizardhat hardware -Instructions
These are extra stainless steel M8 bolts for your hydrofoil setup.
These are all countersunk flat head Stainless Metric Bolts in various sizes. We can tell you what size you need for most foil setups. The best way to do it is to measure the bolts you need from the ones that are already on your foil. Use the graphic below.

Trim Shim Stackable Hydrofoil Shimming System
Regular price
$34.00
The TrimShim stack-able hydrofoil shim system comprises of a set of specially made abs shims that lock-in to one another creating a stack-able shim. Each shim in the kit is at a 1 degree slant and there are 3 shims in this kit for up to 3 degrees of adjustment. The kit also includes 4 sets of wizardhat hardware with its patent pending articulating pivot allowing for full contact with the board track even at up to 5 degree tilt. It is only recommended to use the Wizardhat hardware with the TrimShim system.
Why you would want to shim your base plate? The angle between your board and your fuselage is fixed due to the mounting or installation of the track in the board. There are different angles necessary for different foiling sports specifically for prone/SUP surf foiling, static foil pumping, and kite foiling. If you're trying to use a kitefoil board for prone surfing it maybe helpful to change this angle to more easily catch the wave. Also, changing the angle between the board and fuselage will help immensely while static pumping off a dock or out at sea. You guys asked for it and FoilMount built it!
What is in the kit: -3 sets of TrimShim shims each at 1 degree -4 sets of WizardHat hardware which will work on any board with a track and any base plate on the market -15mm ratchet wrench -2 qty 40mm T-bolts (not included in shims only) -Cool Foilmount and Wizardhat decal
Primer 3M 94 Adhesion Promoter
Regular price
$2.99
When in doubt use the primer, it is magical in terms of making things stick really well! It is also easy to use.
How to: To apply, make sure the surface is fully prepped and dry using the instructions included with the mount. To use the primer, just push the dot on the side of the stick to start the flow of primer to the application brush tip. Apply it to the surface in a thin even coat. Make sure you allow it to dry before installing the FoilMount which is usually 5 minutes at room temperature.
More Specific Information: In the back of the FoilMount installation guide; and below, there is a list of the materials the FoilMount will stick the best to and a list of other poor/fair adhesion materials. You can use the primer to improve the adhesion of these poor/fair adhesion materials so you can still use the FoilMount. Polyethylene and polypropylene are a few of these materials and can be common on wakeboard and kiteboard bottom surfaces. If you're using a FoilMount with a board that has a bottom made from a material on the fair adhesion list make sure to use this 3M primer to prepare the surface prior to sticking down the FoilMount. This adhesion promoter can be used in a wide variety of applications. It is developed to be used in conjunction with 3M VHB tapes to increase the bonding strength of the tape. It is a popular tool to assist in applying automotive vinyl wraps. It increases the bond between vinyl wraps and nearly anything where a strong, durable bond is required. This product can be used to promote adhesion of 3M tapes to surfaces such polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, PET/PBT blends, concrete, wood, glass, metal and painted metal surfaces.
